3 Skin Treatments Your Body Deserves

Share:

Skin treatments could make anyone’s skin look fantastic.  Blemishes, scars, discoloration, and multiple other less than perfect marks upon the skin are unsightly, and can be extremely annoying, usually presenting a problem at the worst possible time.  For the whole of human history, there have only been 2 choices to deal with these things; either some kind of ointment or cream to decrease the appearance and notice ability, or to let it go away on its own (maybe).  But modern medical science has made many strides over the last 100 years to come up with better ways of treating damaged skin, and to protect skin from becoming damaged.

Especially prevalent and noticeable on facial skin, so many dermatological issues can now be dealt with through fairly regular, simple means.  Since you owe it to yourself to look as good as you feel, here are 3 skin treatments that you, and your body, more than deserve.

1. Chemical Peel

Using light chemicals to remove the top layer of skin, chemical peels is a skin treatment used to clear out pores and remove damaged surface layers of skin.  Used to both smooth out the complexion and remove the appearance of scars and skin damage, chemical peels are a simple way to treat the epidermis.  There are at home models, but the most effective treatments are issued by professionals at top notch health spas, such as Skinney Med Spa in New York City.

2. Laser Treatments

For attacking the problem at its source (below the top layers of skin), there are multiple laser based treatments that can help relieve skin issues.  Nonablative laser skin treatments blast the lower layers of skin to make the body produce more collagen, the proteins that our bodies make to create or fix connective tissue.  By forcing collagen production in the lower layers of skin, the body naturally heals fine lines and wrinkles, and can also tighten loose skin to give a younger, healthier look.  Diode lasers are used to attack severe acne and other facial issues by destroying the oil-producing glands that cause acne.  Both skin treatments are somewhat painful, but can be quick fixes for serious skin issues.

3. Microdermabrasion

This process, by which small, jagged pieces of crystalline materials or a small sharp tipped implement are used to break up surface skin cells, and then suck them away from the skin, so as to remove damaged dermis and allow the lower, healthier layers to be on top.  A painless procedure, this treatment exfoliates the skin, and clears up surface damage to give the skin lift, and allow it to do its job to regulate body heat and remove toxins better.  One of the best parts about microdermabrasion is that it is so easy to do, and places like Skinney MedSpa are experts at the process.  If your skin is in need of treatment, and you don’t want to take a painful, aggressive approach by resorting to surgery or laser treatments, microdermabrasion is likely the best treatment for you.
